If you go to Banyeres de Mariola, you should absolutely visit its castle, perched 830 metres up on top of Tossal de l’Àguila hill. There are guided tours available all year round every Sunday. From this suspended viewing point you will be treated to views extending as far as the eye can see, over the provinces of Alicante, Murcia, Valencia and Albacete.

Banyeres de Mariola is the highest village in the province of Alicante, with the impressive castle dominating its skyline. The photos you could take from this spot are bound to be keepers! The fortress was built by the Almohads between the 12th and early 13th century.
