Mutxamel is a municipality with an excellent location between the sea and the mountains, with good climatic conditions and just a step away from tourist cities such as Alicante, Elche or Benidorm. Mutxamel preserves the essence of its traditions, that is why we want to invite you to discover its festivals, introduce you to the rich and diverse customs and local folklore and, above all, invite everyone who visits us to enjoy, live and feel our festivities through music, dance, fervor, the parade and the color with which the streets of the municipality are filled.
For Mutxamel, its Patron Saint Festivals are one of the best signs of identity of the municipality. Historical chronicles and personal testimonies transmitted from generation to generation place the founding of the Festivals in honor of the Mare de Déu de Loreto in 1843. From the mid-19th century to the present, the Moors and Christians Festivals have been growing in originality , quality and diversity of events, while they have always been a manifestation of their cultural values and popular tradition, with a special ethnological consideration. All of this as they became a tourist asset for the town, growing in the number of participants in the parades and in their ability to attract visitors.
