The Byzantine art museum is located in the Monastery of La Trinidad, within the area of the crossroads of Tángel, Mutxamel and San Joan, which was built in the 17th and 18th centuries, modernized in the late 19th century, and eventually restored by the monks of the Fraternidad Monástica de la Paz, who moved there on October 26th 1982. The museum devotes most of its effort to the literary and technical expansion of everything related to Byzantine art by means of specialized publications and reproductions of icons, some of them painted following ancient techniques developed by the Workshop of icons of monasteries, while others are printed or made on wood.
