The temple is a classic example of Valencian Baroque architecture, in its interior, highlighted is a contemporary canvas by Traver Calzada, which represents the beheading of San Juan. On the right hand side of the monumental facade is the church tower-steeple which is one of the tallest in the Valencian Community. The tower is octagonal, and the door that allows access exhibits an image of Santa Bárbara. At the top of the tower is a great ball, which serves as the base, upon which the image of Saint John the Baptist stands, the figure was placed there by an acrobat.
