Find out all about the festivals taking place in Benicasim throughout the year and experience the playful joyous side of this incredible city.

The festive season in Benicasim kicks off every year between January and February with a celebration in honour of San Antonio Abad. On the 17 January, the San Antonio Abad festivities see a traditional procession travel through the streets, impressive floats are brought out for the occasion and a ceremonial offering takes place. Traditional biscuits are given out and locals light bonfires to the delight of everyone. On the 5 February, a pilgrimage is organised for Santa Águeda accompanied by "coca mal feta" - a typical sponge cake - and sips of muscatel. If that whets your appetite, then Día de las Paellas, Paella Day, follows shortly after, don't miss it.

If you are still looking to get involved in the local festivities of Benicasim, visit during Noche de San Juan and jump over the waves at midnight. This festival is a magical occasion in Benicasim filled with fireworks, shows and folk dances. Of course, the local cuisine and muscatel wine also play a key part in the festivities. Get ready to make a wish by the bonfire and believe in magic for a night.

Continuing the journey through Benicasim’s festivals we arrive in September when Santo Tomás de Villanueva Festival floods the city with tradition in the form of outdoor stages, bullfights, food events and live music. Visiting Benicasim during one of the many festivals is a great way to explore this coastal city, with Art Nouveau villas and the famous Carmelitano liqueur awaiting your arrival. You will also have Desert de les Palmes Natural Park right on your doorstep. Would you pass this opportunity by?
