Come and explore a beautiful sight in Cabanes that is full of tradition and history.

Ermita de Santa Águeda and Santa Lucía, Santa Águeda and Santa Lucía Chapel, commonly known as Les Santes Chapel, in Cabanes in the province of Castellón, is one of the most iconic landmarks of the town. According to tradition, the two saints appeared to a hermit in this very spot, instructing him to build a chapel in their honour.

The martyred saints share the name of the place of worship with the patron saint of Cabanes, Nuestra Señora del Buen Suceso or Mare de Déu de les Santes. The site consists of several buildings, including the chapel, the hermit's dwelling and a large house-inn that once hosted visitors and pilgrims.

Inside Santa Águeda and Santa Lucía Chapel, the structure houses a single nave. On the right side is a chapel dedicated to Virgen del Buen Suceso and her image. In the main altar of the presbytery, you’ll find the statues of Santa Águeda and Santa Lucía, who are given places of honour. Relics of the saints are also kept here.

This chapel in Cabanes is a place steeped in tradition and devotion, closely tied to the history and cultural identity of Cabanes. You can’t miss it – make sure you put it on your itinerary!
