Discover a beautiful historic centre crowned with a magnificent church that will take you back to the 14th century.

Situated in Jérica, Santa Águeda is a magnificent church that was built in 1385. The infante Don Martín commissioned the work and donated his palace and grounds to it. By 1396, the building was being used as a place of worship. Later, in the 17th century, the Gothic church was renovated, including the addition of the Baroque façade. Over the centuries, particularly during the Civil War, the church was severely damaged. A series of restoration and reconstruction work has been undertaken to give the church its current appearance. The interior comprises a central nave lined with chapels and the exterior is defined by buttresses.

Santa Águeda church is the excuse you’ve been looking for to come and visit Jérica, a town located in Alto Palancia county. The historic centre of the town is listed a Site of Cultural Interest and is just steps from Sierra de Espadán, a beautiful mountainscape where you can enjoy all sorts of outdoor activities.

The town itself is bustling and offers visitors all sorts of things to see and do. Wander the streets and then make your way to Vuelta de la Hoz, a pretty natural area that is close to the town so that you and all the family can enjoy spending time here together. A great spot for lovers of hiking. Come to Jérica to enjoy the sights, including, of course, beautiful Santa Águeda church.
