Museu de Prehistòria de València, the Prehistoric Museum of València, also known as MUPREVA, was founded by the Valencian Council’s Service of Prehistoric Research in 1927. Ever since, the museum has been dedicated to the conservation, research and distribution of the wealth of Valencian archaeological heritage. The collection is located in the old La Beneficencia House and rubs shoulders with ETNO, a renowned ethnology museum.
The ground floor of the museum hosts temporary exhibitions while the first floor is dedicated to an exhibition about the Paleolithic and rooms focusing on the Neolithic with exceptional collections of objects and fossils discovered in local archaeological sites. The second floor hosts findings dating to the Iberian and Roman periods and includes valuable pieces like the mosaic from Font de Mussa. The museum also runs all sorts of activities and educational workshops so you can understand the city and the province of Valencia’s most distant past. How do you fancy coming for a visit?
