In Ravel Roig, the former fishermen's quarter, a festivity is held in honour of their patron, the Virgen del Socorro; a hermitage is also named after her. The day starts with loud bangs as the "despertà" firecrackers go off, and more powder is used at the end of the day in a grand firework display. During the day, there are street parades, a "paella" contest, local fish dish contest and popular games. The flower-offering and procession in honour of the Virgen del Socorro are celebrated on 8th.
