From October 30th to November 8th 2026, Guardamar del Segura will be filled with culinary offerings that carry a special flavor: each tapa is inspired by a historical episode from the town’s past. This year, the focus is on James II and his stay in Guardamar in 1296.


The "Tapas with History" route has become an original way to showcase Guardamar’s cultural richness through its cuisine. Local bars and restaurants create exclusive tapas that are not only delicious but also tell a story.


The concept is simple: a tapa and a drink for a flat price of 4 euros—an opportunity to sample local cuisine in small bites while discovering the significance of Guardamar’s heritage. Over the course of ten days, residents and visitors can explore the participating establishments, discover unique tapas, and vote for their favorite.
