Come and discover one of the province of Alicante’s best-loved Christmas traditions, with a character all its own.

La Cavalcada de Reis Mags de Mutxamel, the Mutxamel Three Kings Parade, has been a much-loved part of the town’s heritage since 1957 and takes place every year on the evening of 5 January. Make sure you don’t miss it this year!

Mutxamel Three Kings Parade: traditions and leading figures

What sets this parade apart is the care that goes into recreating scenes from the Bible. The procession features eleven themed floats, two live recreations of Bethlehem and the three official floats carrying the Three Kings.

Traditional Christmas carols provide the soundtrack throughout the route, performed by local group El So de Mutxamel. One of the best known is “Els Pastorets”, a song from Mutxamel that has been passed down through the generations and has become part of the town’s cultural identity.
