Discover an elegant manor house in Onil that is home to the local Doll Museum.

L'Hort House is a manor house in Onil that once belonged to the Payá family. If you love architecture and interior design, you won’t want to miss this building. It is an excellent example of civil manor architecture from the late 19th century. In the late 20th century, a number of finishing touches were made and decorative details were added to the finishes and coatings on the walls.

L'Hort House in Onil has a rectangular plan, a ground floor and two further storeys, each of which is 408m². Unlike other Baroque palaces in the area, the staircase does not end at the first floor, but rather continues to the second where it is capped with a turret. South facing, the house’s main façade has an impressive entrance which is defined by beautiful ornamentation.

The building was bought by industrialists from Onil in the 1970s and later donated to the Council. It currently houses Onil Doll Museum. If you are wondering what to see in Onil during your time in the town, the museum is a must for your to-visit list.

Onil Doll Museum tells the story of the doll making industry in the town from its inception to the late 19th century. Artisanal production gave way to the industrialisation and modernisation of doll making. You will discover different production methods and see examples of classic and present-day dolls. So what are you waiting for? Come to L'Hort House to explore all the secrets it holds within.
