What to see in Orba

A great place to start your exploration of the Muslim destination is Museu del Fang, which will take you on an historic exploration of the pottery industry in the town. Created through donations, the collection will tell you just how this profession flourished from the 17th century.

If you are keen to find out more about pottery in Orba, you can also visit the workshops sprinkled around the town or take a guided tour. You also won't want to miss Orbeta, the pottery district.

The town is also home to artisans making bags and leather goods, fashion accessories you might fancy buying. And then there is the sight that you won’t want to miss: the castle, which is known as Castillo de Awraba and El Castellet.

The castle was used for surveilling the Rectoría and Laguar valleys. There are still some walls, a tower and a cistern – which is in a relatively good state of conservation – standing today. From the castle, you can breathe in views over the beautiful agricultural land, populated with citrus, almond, carob and olive trees. Other must-visits include the church, the historic centre and Font de Baix, the washhouse.

In terms of local gastronomy, make sure you try figatells, paella, coquesolleta and even a delicious arroz al horno. Other dishes you will want to try are paella, coques, olleta and arroz al horno. The perfect meals to sit down to after a great hike or mountain bike ride through the local scenery. Come and enjoy everything Orba has to offer.
