What to do in San Miguel de Salinas
As you wander around the centre, set some time aside to visit San Miguel Arcángel Parish Church. You can also see the ruins of some old windmills, namely Tía Pelá – of which only the old mill stone remains – and El Marqués. The latter, a cylindrical stone structure, affords incredible views from its elevated position.
Another attraction in San Miguel de Salinas are the underground buildings or cave-houses, which are located in and around the Primero de Mayo district and Zenia street. The cave-houses were excavated in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and are an important part of the destination’s history.
Once you’ve finished exploring San Miguel de Salinas’ most iconic sights, we recommend doing some hiking through the beautiful natural landscapes. From here, you can easily reach Las Lagunas de la Mata y Torrevieja Natural Park.
