Come and check out the fantastic festivals in Todolella. Have a great time discovering the town’s traditions.

Time your visit to Todolella with one of the festivals that take place in this Mediaeval town located in Els Ports county in Castellón. Wander down the streets of the traditional historic centre and stumble upon traditions as you go. Head to Todolella in February for the San Antonio festival, a big event that consists of dramatised reenactments of the saint’s life and dances in which locals dress up as devils and wear bells. And you can’t miss the big bonfire that plays a symbolic role in the festivities. In May, it’s time for the San Cristóbal procession which will take you around the town’s pretty surroundings. Another procession to add to your list of events in Todolella is that of San Miguel and Santa Quiteria, celebrated in the traditional historic centre of Saranyana at the end of May or start of April. Todolella is also home to a very particular custom, the Warrior Dance. Dancers dressed in colourful costumes take on different roles in a spectacle consisting of several movements. How long this tradition has been going on for is a mystery, but locals keep the ritual alive performing in August during the festive season dedicated to San Bartolomé and San Redento. The dance of Les Gitanetes also takes place around this time, a tradition in which women dressed in typical attire perform a choreographed dance with ribbons. Do you want to take part in one or all of Todolella’s festivals? You’ll love seeing this pretty town in the festive spirit as well as exploring the abandoned village of Saranyana.
