What to see in Losa del Obispo

The centre of Losa del Obispo has a traditional appearance, with streets lined by low houses. Here you can visit 16th-century San Sebastián Mártir Parish Church, which has an interesting interior. Make sure you also stop off at El Abrevador fountain, a beautiful spot with a natural spring.

Venture a little further outside the centre to see 19th-century Los Dolores Chapel, which has a pretty cupola decorated with blue tiles. Around the chapel you’ll see the traditional Calvario with the Stations of the Cross.

Other things to do in Losa del Obispo include spending time at La Canaleta Recreational Area where there is a fountain and facilities for making paella – it’s a wonderful place to have lunch al fresco and chill out. If you’re looking for hiking trails in Losa del Obispo, there are plenty of options available to you.

One of these is the Cross Route, an easy to intermediate level trail that affords lovely views from Los Huertos Peak and leads to you an old telegraph tower. The Tarragón Shelter trail is another great thing to do in Losa del Obispo, as it leads you to what was once a place of worship between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC and in the medieval period. There are engravings on the wall that bear testament to this.

Both options are on the PR-CV 470 and well signposted – it’s up to you to summon the energy to walk them. Last but not least, lovers of outdoor pursuits will be pleased to hear that there’s a via ferrata on Peña Roya. It can be accessed from La Canaleta Recreational Area and includes a spectacular rappel. So what are you waiting for? Come and explore Losa del Obispo.
