The Marjal dels Moros, between Sagunto and Puçol, is a wetland of outstanding ecological importance and part of the Natura 2000 network. Covering around 350 hectares, it it made up of lagoons, salt marshes, coastal meadows and farmland, creating a rich mosaic of habitats that support remarkable biodiversity.

Around 250 bird species can be spotted in the Marjal dels Moros, including the marbled teal, white-headed duck and ferruginous duck, alongside endemic plant life and wildlife such as the samaruc fish and the European pond turtle.

The area features clearly marked walking routes and birdwatching hides, as well as the Valencian Community’s Environmental Education Centre, an excellent starting point for learning more about this unique wetland.
