What to see in Torrebaja

Torrebaja is split into two districts, Torrebaja and Torrealta, which both offer quaint Spanish streets perfect for a gentle afternoon stroll. Santa Ana Parish Church resides in Torrealta and is a curious Gothic 13th-century building. Not far from here, you’ll find the Medieval fortified tower, known as Somera Tower. Let’s continue the tour with a quick stop at the grand Garcés de Marcilla Manor House to take some photos.

While in the centre of Torrebaja, you can’t miss visiting Los Picos Tower, a 16th to 17th-century manor house, nor the Sangre Hospital, whose walls tell of a turbulent past. After that, head to the 20th-century Santa Marina Parish Church and La Replaceta area where you’ll be able to enjoy sweeping views of Torrebaja’s fields, brimming with produce.

At the highest point of Torrebaja sits San Roque Chapel, which boasts panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. But it's not the only place to admire the vistas; follow the path to San José Chapel to check out El Río Turia and El Ebrón Viewpoints.

What to do in Torrebaja: hikes and activities in nature

You can reach these two viewpoints either from the village or via La Loma del Montecillo Botanical Trail. This hiking route in Torrebaja is a gentle route of less than one kilometre - perfect for the entire family! As you meander along the path, you’ll be treated to lovely views of the two rivers and of Torrebaja itself, until you reach the fascinating remnants of the area’s wartime history.

You can’t leave this charming destination in Valencia without exploring a stretch of El Agua Route. The popular hiking trail takes you past old mills, canals, a dam where you can do a spot of wild swimming, over historic bridges and to where the two rivers meet. This hike,  brimming with natural and cultural sites, offers a great outdoor activity while in the area. Come to Torrebaja for a wonderful and relaxing time in the country.
