We will begin the trip with a guided walk through the rice fields, beside an irrigation canal to one of the park¿s largest and oldest pumping stations. Along the way, we will make a series of stops where we¿ll explain the fascinating rice growing cycle and how this accounts for the ever changing landscape of area.Once at the pumping station, we will provide a guided visit, explaining how the water is distributed from the lake to the rice fields, across a huge area. You¿ll never see a plate of rice in quite the same way again!

Our return walk back through the rice fields will be used to focus on the bird life of the area, and how the rice cycle directly effects and benefits the rich bird life of the park.
