Things to see in Vinalesa on a walk through the town centre

  • Cruz de Término and the Hermitage of Santa Bárbara: a small, simple-looking chapel next to an old cross that once marked the municipal boundary.

  • Real Fábrica de Seda de Vinalesa, the Royal Silk Factory of Vinalesa: a gem of 18th-century Valencian industrial architecture. When it was founded, it was a model of innovation that included a trade school and pioneering measures to support workers’ wellbeing. Over time, it brought in steam-powered machinery and adapted to jute production after the crisis in the silk industry. Its architecture, with masonry walls and an iconic brick chimney, made use of the force of the Acequia de Moncada, the Irrigation Canal of Moncada, through a large hydraulic waterwheel. The history of the Royal Silk Factory of Vinalesa is closely linked to the Silk Road and, today, the building is home to a civic centre, Vinalesa Town Hall, the library and a cultural space.

  • San Honorato Arzobispo de Arlés Parish Church: an 18th-century neoclassical church with rococo architectural and decorative details.

  • Royal Irrigation Canal of Moncada: dating back to the Muslim period, this hydraulic infrastructure has almost 800 years of history.

  • Carraixet Ravine: we encourage you to set off on walks or cycling routes through the huerta of Vinalesa and discover its main natural feature: Carraixet Ravine. It starts in the Sierra Calderona and runs all the way to the sea, and it is home to several species of water birds!

Come and discover the landscape of the Valencian huerta, and soak up the incredible light that bathes Vinalesa!
