Benidorm’s Major Patron Saint Festivities fill the streets with tradition, music and fireworks. Highlights include the re-enactment of the discovery of the town’s patron saint, lively peñas parades and spectacular firework displays by the sea.

The Fiestas Mayores Patronales de Benidorm, Benidorm’s Major Patron Saint Festivities, are a great way to discover a more traditional side to this city in Alicante.

When are Benidorm’s Major Patron Saint Festivities?

They take place every year over five days, from the second weekend in November through to the following Wednesday, in honour of the Virgen del Sufragio and San Jaime Apóstol.

One of the most significant events is the Re-enactment of the Discovery of Benidorm’s Patron Saint, an emotional performance held on Poniente beach. The programme also includes processions, pilgrimages, street parades and solemn traditional ceremonies organised by the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals.

That more ceremonial side of the festivities sits alongside a packed entertainment programme, with live music, correfocs and wow-worthy firework events including despertás, mascletás and cordás. Local peñas add even more colour with a whole range of popular events, including the much-loved Humour Parade.
