Over the course of the two days, local residents perform some of the best-known scenes from the Nativity as they move from one setting to the next, including the Annunciation, the Adoration of the Magi and the Flight into Egypt. More than 100 actors take part in the production, which unfolds across five different natural settings, such as the El Pinaret plain, with the audience following the procession from one location to another as the story develops. The festival in Cañada begins in the morning with a parade by the local band, which accompanies visitors to the starting point.
