Legend holds that the Mare de Dèu del Miracle Image, painted by San Lucas, cried twenty-seven tears of blood on April 19 of 1520 when a plague devastated the town. The town’s patron saint dates from that time. The procession and transferral of the Mare de Dèu are important events.
