The inhabitants of El Campello gather every year in mid-January to celebrate the traditional blessing of animals on the occasion of the festival of San Antonio Abad, patron saint of animals.

The celebration begins with the traditional equestrian tour led by the 'El Caballo' Association of El Campello, which will be followed by the Mass at noon and the traditional blessing of bread rolls, which will then be distributed among the population. Finally, families will take a tour of several streets of the municipality, showing off their most prized pets: birds in cages, baskets with rabbits, cats or turtles, well-groomed dogs, hamsters..., which upon reaching the square of the Church of Santa Teresa They will be blessed too.
