Trains, history and loads of thrills in miniature at the Elche Railway Museum. Are you in?

In Torrellano, just a few minutes from Elche, a different kind of outing teeming with nostalgia awaits you: the Railway Museum. A space lovingly managed by the Associació Alacantina d'Amics del Ferrocarril, where railway history can be touched, seen ... and experienced!

The museum houses a unique collection of original objects that belonged to the old train and tram companies of the province: signals, caps, telephones, lanterns, plaques, old photographs ... and even real locomotives on display outside. Admission is free and, if you're lucky, one of the members may guide you around offering anecdotes and explanations that you won't find in any book.

But the best awaits you outside: a 550-metre circuit where scale-model trains run through tunnels, over bridges, through stations and across viaducts. Young and old alike can climb aboard and enjoy an authentic journey, complete with tickets, a public address system, light signals ... and even ticket inspectors! Everything has been recreated with special care, a care that resonates in every detail.

Ideal for spending an afternoon with the family or reliving childhood memories, the museum is open every Saturday afternoon and some Sundays. If you want to make the most of your day, you can also visit the nearby hamlet of El Altet or take a stroll through the Clot de Galvany Natural Area.
