Alicante is a world reference point thanks to its beaches and its spectacular climate, and nowadays, it has become a place par excellence to practise wine tourism, enjoy good food, and taste superb wines.

Hand in hand with the Regulatory Council of the Wines of Alicante Protected Designation of Origin, here you are some interesting routes to visit and tour the different wineries in Alicante. With sun and wine, you will find the perfect space to unleash the most delicate pleasures.

Ruta de La Marina Alta
One of the most recognised wineries in this area is Bodegas Enrique Mendoza located in Alfaz del Pí. The winery makes guided tours with tastings to enjoy the beautiful winery and taste its wines. During the Holy Week always they always organise a few days to get closer to the world of wine.

Another area to visit in La Marina Alta are the municipalities of Benissa, Teulada, Xaló, and Parcent. These four destinations are known as the Valle del Pop. You can visit and taste the wines of Bodegas Xaló and contemplate the vineyards and family wineries of Bodegas Parcent.

Route of the Vinalopó Medio
In the second stage of the route, you will enjoy the beautiful vineyards from Monóvar to Pinoso. There you can see an immense and delicate valley full of the most prominent vineyards in the area.

This stage begins in Petrer, with the visit to Bodegas Bocopa, where you can show off of the best wine tourism. There you will find the Museo del Calzado, although, if your thing is to eat, try the best desserts in the Pastelería Totel.

As the second destination of this stage, you will find Monóvar, which is historically considered one of the wine centres of Spain. Here it is inevitable to hear about Monastrell and Fondillón. You can not miss one of the oldest wineries in the area, the Primitivo Quiles winery. This winery has the First Fondillón with Parker Points.

As the third destination you will reach Villena, here you will find the best wineries in the north of Alicante, being one of the most beautiful, the Bodega de Francisco Gómez. Upon arrival, you will enjoy the beauties offered by Sax, which is an imposing castle that continually challenges the laws of gravity. The best thing is that the vineyard and the Cooperativa Winery are located at the foot of this castle.

In this beautiful city, you can also visit famous and relevant wineries such as Bernabé Navarro and Bodega las Virtudes, which offer rich wines and excellent quality.

Route of Cocentaina and Alcoy
In the third stage of this delicious journey, you will enter the most mountainous area of ​​Alicante known as the Tuscany of Alicante. Here, the weather and the landscape come together to show you Vins del Comtat, in Cocentaina. Stop and taste the best homemade wines when visiting the winery. In this area, the best wines and the imposing castles are the protagonists. Once here, you can not miss visiting Alcoy known worldwide for its Moors and Christians' festival.

Regulating Council of the Alicante Protected Designation of Origin
The wines of Alicante have their seal of quality thanks to the Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin Alicante, created in 1957. The Designation of Origin Alicante is intended to safeguard the designation of origin recognised in 1932 and promote the culture wine industry in Alicante, through routes, training, tourism, and events.

Alicante is a land of wines thanks to its delicious grape. Its climate makes the grapes sweet and therefore produces one of the most precious wines in the area, with touches of the Mediterranean sea.
