Benicàssim Belle Époque is an event designed to showcase the most significant, distinctive, and unique aspects of the municipality's tourism assets. Its goal is to become a benchmark for historical reenactments within the cultural and heritage landscape of the province of Castellón.
The "Villas" district of Benicàssim—largely built by the Spanish bourgeoisie during the first third of the 20th century (though the first villa dates back to the late 19th century)—served as a setting where the cultural trends of the era flourished among local society.
The architecture of the buildings, the Modernist ceramic ornamentation, and the customs and lifestyles of those early decades—shaped by the historical events of the time—fostered a golden age for both the villas and Benicàssim itself.
Drawing inspiration from the culture, traditions, craftsmanship, and trades of that era—as well as the collective memory of that golden age—the event aims to attract tourists and highlight the town's cultural and heritage value. It focuses on a specific, remarkable area: the Benicàssim Villas district and the town's central hub.
Therefore, the objectives of this event are:
To generate an activity that attracts tourists and visitors.
To reduce tourism seasonality in the city; the event is scheduled outside the municipality's peak tourist season.
To honor traditional culture and customs, and to preserve the memory of events that were significant to Benicàssim, such as the grape harvest.
To promote and conserve the municipality's historical and documentary heritage.
Benicàssim Belle Époque is designed for audiences of all ages—from children to adults and seniors—offering a diverse range of activities to ensure there is something for everyone. These activities take place at various locations throughout the municipality.
In 2026, the event will be held from September 4 to 6.
