A wine fountain, huge pots of stew and sweet treats. Burriana celebrates its patron saint, San Blas, in style.

On the 3 February, Burriana honours its patron saint – San Blas – with wine. This festival is cherished by locals and its most iconic image is that of Font del Vi, a fountain that distributes wine to locals and visitors taking part in the festivities.

Gastronomy also plays an important role in the celebrations. You can dig into sausage sandwiches featuring produce made in the area, as well as help yourself to a traditional stew cooked in huge pots over the flames. A delicious way to discover the town through your palate.

Different cultural and sports activities will take place throughout the day. The highlight of the programme, however, is the procession of the saint. The locals put a lot of care into the parade and it is a sight to be seen. Fiestas de San Blas coincides with other gastronomic events held biannually, namely Mostra Gastronómica and Jornadas Gastronómicas de la Naranja. Make sure you don’t miss anything that’s on in the town during the festivities.
