What to see in Espadilla

The Peña Saganta is the most characteristic image of the views from Espadilla, in whose surroundings you will find fountains, the river Mijares, an interesting geology and much more. We suggest you follow the signs for the PR-CV 314 short-distance path, which is about 10 km long, and go up to the top of Peña Saganta, to take photos of incredible views.

Another very interesting route is the trail to the Cueva Negra, or PR-CV 386. You will enjoy great views! A quiet, short and charming route will take you to the hermitage of San Roque, among orange trees and next to the river, perfect for a family walk!

In the town centre of Espadilla you can walk through quiet streets, between the Plaza de la Fuente and the Plaza de la Iglesia, where you will find the Corinthian-style church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. Don't miss the town hall, housed in an 18th-century Gothic abbey that has been restored.

This municipality celebrates great festivals that are a perfect excuse to plan a getaway, such as Easter, San Antonio Abad with its traditional blessing of the animals and typical sweets, or the cultural week in August, with a photography competition and an interesting cultural programme.

The Christmas festivities in Espadilla are intensely experienced with an authentic living Nativity scene, and on 26 December, with the Día de las Tortas. This is an interesting auction of sweets for charity where delicious local products are donated. Finally, the patron saint festivities in August fill the streets of Espadilla with good vibes, with open-air dances and brotherhood dinners. Come and discover this corner of Castellón!
