Its solid appearance reflects its past, as materials from the old walls and former castle were used in its construction, giving it the look of a fortified church.

Around the church, you can still spot remains of the defensive walls and several arches that once formed part of the old castle. Even though the fortress no longer stands, the oldest part of La Torre d’en Besora is dotted with traces of its history at every turn.
