Discover a festival with a toothsome foodie twist.

Les Festes de Sant Bartomeu, the Saint Bartholomew Festival in Nules, Castellón, takes place every August, with the 24th as the big day. The festival has been recorded since the late 16th century and today it's a heady mix of tradition, food and pure fun.

Everything kicks off with the Cridà de Festes, the official call to start the celebrations. From there, the town comes to life with events like the mesón de la tapa, where you can try all sorts of tasty bites, and a lively fancy-dress dance that gets everyone in the mood.

The real highlight is the Sopar de Germanor, a huge community supper where the traditional tombet de bou––a big, hearty local beef stew––is cooked and shared at long tables. Neighbours and visitors sit side by side, enjoying good food, good company and the high spirits of Nules. Come and experience it for yourself––it's a feast in every sense of the word.
