Discover Oropesa del Mar’s traditional bull running and festivities.

Encierros, the Runnings of the Bulls in Oropesa del Mar, located in the province of Castellón, are some of the most exciting traditions taking place in the town. The runs are held in two key moments in the year: during the San Jaime festival in July and the Nuestra Señora de la Paciencia festival in October.

Barriers are set up for an area stretching over 1 km in Oropesa del Mar, delimiting the run for the bulls. This gives the general public the opportunity to experience the event from up close. In 2007, a special event was added to the Runnings of the Bulls calendar in Oropesa del Mar: a nighttime run in which the bulls’ horns are set on fire.
