Street parties, live music and bulls define this popular festival that takes to the streets of Peñíscola every September.

Fiestas a la Virgen de Ermitana is a festival held in Peñíscola every September. Listed an Event of National Tourist Interest, the festivities commence with the ringing of the bells, announcing the beginning of a nine-day festival whose main events start on the 7 September.

One of the liveliest events of the festivities sees dansants, or dancers, playing different roles, namely llauradores, gitanets, cavallets and pelegrines as well as Moors and Christians. You will see a number of parades and danses that speak of the culture and heritage of the town. The dances fill the streets of Peñíscola’s historic centre with traditional costumes and music.

Fiestas a la Virgen de Ermitana also has Moors and Christians parades as well as verbenas (street parties), live music and sueltas de vaquillas (bull events). An event that you and all the family will love.
