Visiting the markets in Alicante, Valencia and Castellón is an activity that absolutely has to be on your list of foodie experiences in the Region of Valencia. Markets in Castellón
Castellón de la Plana Central Market is one of the places you can’t miss in the city. It is located close to Plaza Mayor and a stone’s throw from Santa María la Mayor Church and El Fadrí Tower. Here you will find delicious produce such as cheeses from Catí and black truffles from L’Alt Maestrat, when they’re in season.
Another stop-off in Castellón de la Plana is San Antonio Market, which is smaller but has interesting stalls. We also recommend, if you’re in the destinations, the Abastos Market in Burriana, Vila-real Central Market and the weekly street market in Morella, which sets up its stalls on Sundays.
Markets in València
Visiting markets in València is another great pleasure, with the Central Market, an Art Nouveau masterpiece, a must-visit. València Central Market has great architectural value – its design will blow you away. Likewise, we’d encourage you to see Colón Market, a beautiful Art Nouveau structure that is now a great dining hub.
What’s more, the city is home to other interesting markets, like the ones in Ruzafa, El Cabanyal, Rojas Clemente and Algirós. Save them in your map! It’s also worth knowing that in pretty much all the destinations in the province, you’ll find town and street markets that are great to explore.

Our tour of the markets in Alicante, Valencia and Castellón has led us to Alicante city, where you can visit the Central Market. The building, which is in the Art Nouveau style, is worth seeing in itself, and inside you can get your hands on fresh and tasty produce.
