The Holy Week is one of the most important celebrations in Alboraya, recognized as a Provincial Tourist Interest Festivity since 2018. With a tradition of more than 400 years (documents from 1545 already mention it), it was consolidated in 1975 with the foundation of the Local Board of Brotherhoods and Holy Week Corporations of Alboraya.

Ten brotherhoods participate in this Popular Holy Week, whose processional floats, handcrafted and meticulously decorated, are carried in procession by the members, creating a religious spectacle worth witnessing.

One of the most unique events is the nighttime Penitential Way of the Cross on Holy Monday through the orchard of Alboraya, where the Christ of the Souls is carried from the Vilanova Hermitage to the parish church, illuminated by candles and torches. The atmosphere of solemnity, the dim lighting, and the rural surroundings make this a unique experience in the province.
