Set off on an exploration of Mediterranean woodland in the Region of Valencia. La Cabrentà has got plenty to see and explore.

The municipality of Estubeny, located in the province of Valencia, is home to an area of natural beauty that will take you aback with every step you take. La Cabrentà is a wet woodland that boasts great flora, fauna and geological features.

Also known as 'La Selva d'Estubeny' (the Estubeny Jungle), the landscape is just 5km from Albufera de Anna, a pretty lake. La Cabrentà sits in the valley that the river Sellent has carved into the mountains. Over the passing of time and thanks to a particularly wet microclimate, a Mediterranean jungle has been formed, a phenomenon that is not at all common in the Region of Valencia.

The flora and fauna of La Cabrentà is one of its main attractions. In terms of plant life, you can expect to see laurels and hackberry trees, two varieties that you won’t see elsewhere in the Region. There are also vines like ivy and smilax, a number of pomegranate trees, thyme and ironwort. As you make your way through the greenery, you’ll be serenaded by the birdsong of nightingale, blackcap, golden oriole and jay birds.

The subterranean waters of El Caroig mountains surface throughout La Cabrentà in the form of springs and waterfalls. The water is crystal clear. In the light of day, you’ll also be treated to unique geological formations in the great outdoors. There’s no need to venture into a cave to see stalactites, stalagmites and columns in La Cabrentà.

Throughout the area of natural beauty there are information panels that will enrich your time spent in the area. Follow the signposted trails to immerse yourself in the magical scenery. So what are you waiting for? Come and visit La Cabrentà, an incredible natural landscape that we are lucky enough to have in the Region of Valencia.
