What to see in Llaurí’s historic centre?
Llaurí’s town centre has a special atmosphere and, as you saunter through its streets lined with traditional houses, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time. One of the village’s main landmarks is the Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception, which is situated in a square with a fountain.
Take a little time to admire façades from days gone by and then, afterwards, you can keep walking towards the outskirts to see an old industrial chimney, dating from around 1910. It has an octagonal base.
The best hiking routes in Llaurí
The area around Llaurí is crossed by trails you’ll love, so put on comfortable shoes, pack your bag and get ready to enjoy them.
“Muntanya de Llaurí” Municipal Natural Area
This is an area of great ecological value, and is home to fascinating biodiversity and even a flora micro-reserve. Its dramatic landscape is not to be missed, especially if you’re looking for natural viewpoints in Llaurí with sea vistas.
As you explore it, you’ll also come across springs, vertical rock faces, caves such as L’Anell Cave and a standout rock formation known as Taula Redona, or the Round Table. The area has municipal routes, including the climbs up to Galera Cave and the Cardinal’s Cross, as well as waymarked trails.
For example, you can follow the PR-CV-304, which climbs up to Ratlla Peak, or take the PR-CV-334, which connects you with La Murta and La Casella Municipal Natural Area, as does the PR-CV-335. The latter is a spectacular panoramic route.
