What to do in Manuel

In the centre of Manuel you can visit Santa Ana Parish Church, a 17th-century place of worship, and then take a walk to see the unusual ceramic altarpiece on Juan Moreno street. The piece dates approximately to the year 1800 and is lovely to look at. Next, take a leisurely stroll through the streets lined with traditional houses to soak it all up.

On your list of things to see in Manuel, make sure you include Les Salines Municipal Nature Area, which is next to the village centre. Sitting atop a hill, this lovely place has a unique geological makeup that allows for some fascinating plant species to thrive, including Limonium mansanetianum and tamarisks.

Formed by a natural saltwater spring, this inland salt flat has been used throughout the centuries. In this nature area, you'll also find the remains of a medieval defence tower and an old saltworks, all of which you can explore along the Salt Trail. We recommend it – it’s a bike-friendly, circular, 4 km long easy route!

If you’re lucky, you might just spot wildlife such as hares, shrews, snakes, blue tits, larks, partridges, owls, little owls, and even kestrels and bonelli's eagles in this natural area. Fancy discovering charming destinations like Manuel?
