Serra Castle is located on the homonymous mountain, which is barely 7 kilometres from the town in a circular route. Situated at an altitude of 536 metres, this castle dominates the Turia valley and the access to the mountain range. It also offers incredible views of the Sierra Calderona range and the coastline, you must visit it! Bet on nature tourism.

Serra Castle was built during the 8th and 9th centuries and its ground plan covers 600 square metres. The main tower, which is about 10 metres high, has survived to the present day, and next to it there are two crenellated walls. If you go down to the lower part of the castle you will see a cistern that is still preserved today, as well as the remains of another tower to the northwest and fragments of walls. There is a lot to see in Serra Castle.

It has a long history and has been marked by important events. It formed part of a more extensive defensive system that protected the Kingdom of Valencia. In 1094, El Cid conquered Valencia and took possession of this castle, which was essential for effectively controlling the territory. It is currently declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and belongs to the municipality of Serra.
