The Callosa de Segura Market, also popularly known as LA PLAZA, is a colonial-style building with a striking façade bearing the words MERCADO DE ABASTOS and the town’s coat of arms. The building was constructed in the early 20th century, during the dictatorship of Miguel Primo de Rivera, whilst Carlos Galiana was Mayor of Callosa de Segura.

The building still holds the distinction of being one of the largest food markets in the province of Alicante and is also among the buildings whose facilities are best suited to the needs of the retail sector, particularly the food sector.
