Reservation dates: April 15, 17, and 18.

Location: Steps of Plaza de España.
Ticket sales hours: from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

One of the most anticipated and cherished moments of the San Vicente del Raspeig Patron Saint Festivities is the Lantern Dance, a traditional open-air dance that captivates with its folkloric atmosphere and centuries-old history.


Since the late 19th century, music and dance have been an essential part of these festivities, as the Alicante press already noted in 1898. In the 1920s, the Lantern Dance became firmly established with pasodobles, chotis, and boleros performed by local bands, while couples danced around the fountain in Plaza de España, illuminating the night with paper lanterns and wearing elegant Manila shawls.


Today, this festive event has regained all its splendor. Plaza de España is transformed into a period setting, with traditional decorations, wooden tables, typical sweets, and live music by the La Esperanza Musical Society. The atmosphere is magical, and the charm of the past comes alive in every corner.


At the end of the dance, a raffle is held with prizes donated by local businesses, just as it was done a century ago, bringing to a close an unforgettable evening that combines culture, history, and emotion.
