If you’re looking for a quiet sandy beach enveloped in dunes, El Pinet in Santa Pola is it.

El Pinet beach in Santa Pola is located on the southwesternmost tip of Las Salinas natural park, a wetland of international importance. Inhabited by all sorts of birdlife, the wetland is formed of salt flats, freshwater pools, agricultural land, dunes and beaches like El Pinet.

The beach is 26m wide and some 1.4km long. As a natural beach, it has only basic services as there is a concerted effort to protect and preserve the environment.

El Pinet can only be reached on foot. As you approach the virgin beach, you will be taken aback by the beautiful views it affords over Santa Pola bay. Nearby, you will see Salinas de Bonmatí, which were built in the early 20th century, and Torre Vigía El Pinet, a watchtower that gave signals to Santa Pola castle and Guardamar castle.

Running parallel to the coast, a hiking trail takes you through the Santa Pola dunes. A walk we’d highly recommend during your time here. We’d also suggest checking out some of the other beaches in Santa Pola: La Gola beach, which you can reach on foot from El Pinet and La Ermita beach, which has a beach bar open in the high season. L'Aljub and El Cuartel coves are also within striking distance so you can enjoy the wilderness of the Mediterranean for many long and lazy hours.
