La Torre Vigía Tamarit, Tamarit Watchtower, stands alone in the middle of the Salinas de Santa Pola Natural Park, between the Pinet Tower and the castle-fortress. This is a spot of exceptional scenic beauty that will blow you away when you visit.

The 16th-century Tamarit Watchtower in Santa Pola played a key role in defence and communication, along with other towers inland, as well as guarding the valuable salt flats, a key industry for the town.

Built on a square floor plan, it is surrounded by a landscape of huge ecological importance, with wetlands that are home to a wealth of fauna. During the migration season, thousands of flamingos paint the horizon pink, along with birds such as herons, avocets and red ducks.
