Benicàssim is preparing to host the prestigious Francisco Tárrega International Guitar Competition, an event that brings together talent from around the globe.


The 59th Francisco Tárrega International Guitar Competition will once again make Benicàssim the epicenter of classical guitar from August 27 to September 4, 2026. The competition will kick off with the pre-selection rounds on August 28 and 29 at 10:00 a.m. at the Espai de la Música; admission is free.


As a parallel event, guitarist Álvaro Toscano will perform a concert at Villa Elisa on Sunday, August 30, at 8:00 p.m.; admission is also free.


The semi-finals will take place on August 31 and September 1 and 2 at 10:00 p.m. at the Municipal Theatre, with free access. "Tárrega Day" will be held on Thursday, September 3, at 8:00 p.m. at Villa Elisa, while the grand final will take place on Friday, September 4, at 10:00 p.m. at the Municipal Theatre.
