The Teatro Principal re-opened its doors in November 1999, after the total restoration of its structures, recovering the original Italian shape of the theatre and the magnificent paintings that adorn the ceiling of the hall and the stage's proscenium arch, as well as the Front Curtain; it is the venue for a great variety of shows and performances such as classical theatre plays, avant-garde and transgressive stagings, dance performances... and also exhibitions, seminars and gatherings with which the aim is to put new energy into the cultural debate centring round the world of the stage.
