Throw yourself into a journey back in time at Geldo Castle Palace, a medieval treasure dating to the 15th century that tells the fascinating story of the Region of Valencia.

Castillo Palacio de Geldo, Geldo Castle Palace, also known as Los Duques de Medinaceli Palace, is one of the most fascinating examples of medieval civil architecture in the area. The excellent conservation of the original interior features that date all the way back to the 15th century make this a truly unique monument.

Constructed in the Islamic period, the monument was once the palace of the Dukes of Medinaceli, later serving as an inn for bishops travelling to the diocese of Segorbe. Admire the Medieval features still present today such as the doorways, windows and original cladding.

Aware of the building’s heritage value, Geldo council has worked hard to conserve this architectural treasure. Listed a Site of Cultural Interest, the palace has been restored and renovated, conserving it while also turning it into a social and cultural space that can be used by the public. Beyond enriching the tourist experience, this initiative seeks to boost the cultural and economic development of the county and the municipality.

Geldo Castle Palace is a tangible connection to the past that provides a profound insight into the history and evolution of the area. It boasts not only impressive architecture, but also represents a collective effort to conserve the village’s historic memory and cultural heritage, reconnecting locals and visitors to centuries of legacy
