The municipality of Nules, in Castellón, has several beaches to please locals and visitors. The Bovalar beach is one of them, and it has a very special charm.

The Bovalar beach in Nules has an extension of almost 1.2 kilometers; it is also a narrow beach, with an average width of 20 meters, which does not prevent you from enjoying its calm waters if you arrive early and get a good spot.

It is a mainly sandy beach, with some boulders, and is bounded by small breakwaters. The lighthouse of Nules separates this beach into two parts, and around it we find a group of houses that is the perfect example of the evolution of an old fishing village in a vacational area, which keeps the beach alive in said season As a curiosity, the lighthouse of Nules was built in 1992 by the architect Blanca Lleó, it is the only lighthouse in Spain (next to Irta) built by a woman.

If you visit the Bovalar beach you will enjoy all the amenities and services you need to spend a fantastic day by the sea. Along the shore you will find several sports areas and playgrounds, and also a sports circuit. Nearby there are many dining options to taste delicious Mediterranean recipes and, if you want to access the beach, you can do it by car on the N-340 and park in the area.

When you visit Nules we encourage you to take advantage and enjoy the other beaches of the municipality: you have the l'Alcudia beach, the longest of Nules; the Les Marines beach and the Rajadell beach, the calmest of all, with its camping area next to it if you feel in the mood.
