Set off on an exploration of an Iberian settlement in Ademuz, an astonishing site dating back to the 5th century BC.

La Celadilla, in Ademuz in inland province of Valencia, is an Iberian archaeological site of great importance that you simply have to visit during your time in this part of Rincón de Ademuz.

A settlement established in the 5th century BC, La Celadilla sits atop a butte, a strategic position granting excellent views. As you look around, you will come across part of a wall and a defence tower, and see the layout of the streets and the ruins of houses and rooms, one of which has been identified as an old kitchen. You’ll be astonished by the excavation work conducted to bring them to light. A great way to visit La Celadilla is by taking a special guided tour that will whisk you back to the Iberian period and treat you to a tasting of delicious local products. La Celadilla also makes a great trip for school groups, day out with the kids or simply a day spent doing some sightseeing. In autumn, Ademuz hosts Iberian Days, a can't-miss event that includes living history tours.

We recommend putting La Celadilla on your to-visit list for your time in Ademuz. And if you’re feeling energetic, you can follow an incredible hiking trail to the site.
