Don’t miss a festival that the locals are excited to take part in.

Albaida’s Moors and Christians Festival is renowned and much-loved by locals and visitors who are always delighted with the festivities. The events are intertwined with the Patron Saint Festivities, in honour of Virgen del Remei, which take place in October.

Nit de l'Olla kicks off the Moors and Christians festival. The filaes (festival associations) meet in their headquarters to have dinner together, and the party continues into the early hours of the morning, complete with an informal parade set to the beat of marching bands.

The Entrada of the music bands culminates with the Ángelus and the performance of the Albaida anthem in Plaza Mayor. Then there is the Entrada of the Moors and Christians, which is one of the highlights of the festivities. The streets are decorated and filled with music, colour, incredible costumes and carriages. Come along to be amazed: this is an event you won’t want to miss for anything in the world.

Children are also at the heart of the festivities. There’s a Children’s Entrada of Moors and Christians, which your little ones will love. And to conclude the event, there’s a great parade in the morning and the Moor and Christian Embajadas in the evening and night.

October is the perfect month to visit Albaida. Plan your getaway to coincide with these incredible festivities.
