Built between the 16th and 18th centuries, the church is known for its grand Herrerian façade, elegant bell tower and single-nave interior, where the vaulted ceilings are among its most striking features.

Inside, don’t miss the Baroque Communion Chapel, with its elliptical dome and traditional ceramic tiles. The church also houses works by Vicente López and surviving elements of an altarpiece by Yáñez de la Almedina. It’s well worth making time for as you explore Ayora.
